Tomorrow marks the beginning of November - or Movember, as it is popularly known across the world.
This year, the 10th year of the month-long fundraising drive, organisers have embraced technology with a new Movember app.
Available for both iOS and Android devices, the Movember app lets you track your progress and connect with other Mo Bros anywhere in the world.
Movember is where men spend a month growing a moustache - with no beard or goatee - to raise money for men's health issues.
“We’ve
gotten to the point where you can now pretty much function your entire
campaign through your mobile app,” said Pete Bombaci, Movember's country
manager for Canada.
“You no longer need to go to your website through your computer.” The Movember app
The app lets users register for the campaign, manage
donations, and track eligible rewards as a result of their fundraising
efforts.
It also features a Mo Tracker, which allows users to take
daily photos of their moustache growth and export time-lapse movies to
their donation page and social media channels.
Last year saw over 1.1 million people growing mustaches, and it raised over £92 million globally.
"The
Movember moustache is leading the charge in raising crucial awareness
and funds for men's health," said Mark Hedstrom, US country director for
Movember.
"We look forward to seeing our community of Mo Bros and
Mo Sistas make our tenth year of growing Mos the biggest and hairiest
one yet!"
