Google is celebrating the 169th anniversary of the birth of German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche with a doodle on its homepage.
And there's sure to be at least one footballer raising a toast at some point today - big fan Joey Barton.
The QPR midfielder has enjoyed retweeting a number of Nietzsche's best quotes over the last couple of years.
And only last month he announced he'll be studying philosophy at the University of Roehampton as he looks to learn more about the German and others.
Yet he already seems to be well versed on what the controversial philosopher's views were, as the following five quotes show.
How many of these have been the topic of dressing room conversation?
  1. The desire to annoy no one, to harm no one, can equally well be the sign of a just as of an anxious disposition. #Nietzsche
  2. Thoughts are the shadows of our feelings - always darker, emptier and simpler. #Nietzsche
  3. Is man one of God's blunders? Or is God one of man's blunders? #Nietzsche
  4. We often refuse to accept an idea merely because the tone of voice in which it has been expressed is unsympathetic to us. #Nietzsche
  5. When a hundred men stand together, each of them loses his mind and gets another one #Nietzsche
